Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
Firstly, I take the time to really LISTEN to your concerns & main goals and ensure the physio sessions are centered around achieving your goals! I take a holistic approach to treat the ROOT of the problem; I don’t dance around temporary band-aid solutions. Then I custom tailor a treatment plan to get you back to doing the activities you love to do! But I believe that the process to get there has to be FUN as well! Client education is a key component to my treatment but also crucial for prevention of future injuries. I also practice what I preach by taking a holistic approach to my own health and wellness by finding balance through yoga, lifting weights, reading, staying hydrated, taking my supplements, enjoying music, racquet sports, practicing meditation, & sleep!
What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in?
What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in?
I love using muscle release therapies, myofascial release, yoga therapy, and scar tissue techniques to help with the perinatal population.
Since having my son, & while experiencing my own pelvic health dysfunctions, I have developed a special interest in supporting other new mothers in having an optimized pregnancy, labor, birth, and beyond experience! I feel confident helping first-time moms prepare during pregnancy for labor and birth, treating all types of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti abdominis, bladder pain/Interstitial cystitis, gastrointestinal concerns, sciatica, pelvic girdle pain and low back pain.
What are you proud of in your practice?
I find my line of work extremely rewarding by improving the quality of life of my clients who may have lived with their ’embarrassing’ symptoms for years or decades. I am able to put my clients at ease quickly, despite the ‘personal’ nature of our discussions around gynecological/men’s health, bladder, bowel, & sexual health questioning. Through education, self-management, movement and manual therapy treatments I partner with my clients to assist them in regaining control of their pelvic health wellness and on their own schedule!
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
Lately, I’ve really enjoyed taking on clients with gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, IBS, and persistent hemorrhoids/anal fissures. There is a lot of treatment and education to disseminate with this underserved population to dramatically improve their toileting routine! I also enjoy working with new moms: such as optimizing their pelvic health during pregnancy to have the best birth experience with less likelihood of birth trauma or injury, & supporting women in return to sport postpartum without unwanted leaks, and feeling like their strong selves again!
What are your hobbies outside of the clinic?
You will either find me trying the latest foodie spot in Toronto; current faves are Badiali, White Lily Diner, Miss Likklemores, & Bartholomew Bakery. I am a diehard R&B music lover… Ella Mai, SZA, Lauryn Hill, Nao, Syd, H.E.R, Lucky Daye, Giveon, Yebba, Loony, Kehlani, and Alex Isley are just to name a few of the artists I can get lost in for hours. Activities with my son like long walks, swims, drawing, dancing in the living room, and shopping at Costco with him, are also my favorite; if you’re too slow, he will ‘beep beep’ at you. I am a sucker for any journalling or planner stationary items… you can never have enough stickers! I also really enjoy advocating for the pelvic health physio profession & sharing free content via my instagram @Pelvicpro in my spare time.
