Yonge & St Clair | Patricia Reid, RMT
I also have experience working with athletes in sports such as volleyball, rugby, and cheerleading.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I believe an essential part of treatment is encouraging clients to participate in their treatment. By working together, it helps promote a positive therapeutic space where patients are encouraged to ask questions and give feedback.
Using manual techniques, injury prevention, and stretching, treatment plans can educate clients while improving body awareness and well-being.
Also, with my background in Athletic Therapy, I like to provide my clients with simple stretches that they could incorporate into their routine, but most importantly move their bodies.
What are the top 3 treatments you specialize in?
The treatments I specialize in are trigger point therapy, soft tissue release techniques, and relaxation massage to help improve movement.
What are you proud of in your practice?
Treatment is not one size fits all, while working with clients from different settings from the factory, office, gym, or playing field, I believe it is important to determine the cause of pain and discomfort and not just treat the symptoms.
It is rewarding when a client leaves a session feeling relief from pain or relaxed and even empowered to take care of their bodies.
Which cases do you enjoy treating and why?
Treating a variety of cases provides a welcomed challenge and keeps me growing as a therapist. I enjoy treating sport-related injuries, tension headaches and migraines, and everyday aches and pains.
Knowing that each client comes with their own story, injury, or history encourages and motivates me to continue learning and keep an open mind as to what is going on with each individual.
