Yonge & Wellington | Dr. Amanda Jaeger, ND
Every patient has their own unique story to tell. I enjoy taking the time to meet my patients where they are at, and together, we work towards reaching their personal health goals in a way that is achievable and long-lasting. My breadth of experience and international education can help me relate to patients from many walks of life, and I think that understanding has made me better able to serve and care for them.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
I use a variety of treatments and because Naturopathic medicine is individualized medicine, I may emphasize one of the 6 major treatment modalities more or less with each patient, depending on what is going to work best for them and their lifestyle. Often I will reach for herbal medicines, clinical nutrition, and homeopathy with my patients. That said, I still often create my treatment plans in a way that draws from the rich historical knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and thus may include clinical acupuncture treatments with the incorporated diet and lifestyle prescriptions.
What are you proud of in your practice?
I have realized the key importance of cultivating resilience to life’s many stressors. I am most proud of helping my patients become advocates of their own health. By teaching my patients about the science of their bodies and honoring the basic foundations of health, suddenly making positive changes becomes simple and attainable and this helps them thrive in life.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
With a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, I naturally enjoy sports medicine cases. I also have a special interest in mental health and neuroinflammation, as well as chronic and autoimmune conditions, sleep maintenance, stress management and weight loss. I enjoy treating these conditions (and others) because I find that naturopathic medicine excels at providing solutions that go beyond a quick fix and truly make a difference in one’s quality of life.
