Yonge & Wellington | Andrew Lovidad, RMT
1. Biography
Andrew graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. Prior to becoming an
RMT, Andrew obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering at Ryerson University.
Fueled by a deep passion and interest in sports, fitness and health, Andrew decided to pursue
massage therapy.
2. Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I take a systemic approach when it comes to treatment. This starts with addressing specific
issues/complaints that a client may come in with in order to ensure that they’re wants are being
heard and addressed. From here, I move to the periphery in an attempt to find the root cause.
This involves restoring lost movement options that may be contributing to a client’s symptoms or
compensatory patterns.
3. What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in?
I specialize in myofascial release, joint mobilizaton and sports massage. That being said, I’m a
unique and creative practitioner that isn’t afraid to dive deep into my toolkit if indicated to treat a
client’s needs.
4. What are you proud of in your practice?
I take pride in the attention and effort that I allocate towards my clients. The rewarding feeling I
get when I’m given the opportunity to be a positive part of a client’s journey is unmatched. I have
a tendency to get attached to the cases I encounter, which involves creating unique and
in-depth treatment plans catered towards a given client. This also includes endless research
and reaching out to peers for opinions. This ensures that a client is receiving the best possible
care that I can possibly provide.
5. Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I most enjoy working with athletes of all types and levels. This ranges from elite-level athletes to
passionate recreational-level individuals. I have an extensive amount of knowledge of
biomechanics and experience working with athletes of all disciplines such as runners, high
jumpers, swimmers and weightlifters. Some examples of events that I’ve treated at are the
Toronto Triathlon, Toronto Marathon, Waterfront Marathon and Tournament of Stars with former
NBA players.
With that in mind, I enjoy treating all types of cases ranging from acute sports injuries to
providing relief and relaxation to the general population. Being open and willing to take on every
possible case has allowed me to develop into a confident and well-rounded practitioner.
