Why should patients choose you as their provider over others in the area?
I like to combine the education I had in the halls of Canadian universities, with the ones I’ve had in the classrooms of life. After working in Canada, I wanted to learn more about how different societies and cultures treat emotional and mental health. I spent a year living, working and learning in a meditation centre in Thailand, that provided care for people experiencing a variety of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and loss. I continued that education by studying how other cultures and traditions treat mental health in different parts of the world.
What are you proud of in your practice?
I try to work with the vastness of the mind, the part of you that can be reading this, but thinking about something else, perhaps pondering something in the past, or worrying about something in the future.
I treat a wide range of mental health concerns including Depression, Trauma, Addiction, Anxiety, Grief and Loss, and Relationship Issues. I practice from a client-centered perspective, which means I meet my Clients where they are, emotionally and mentally, in a way that is unique to them. I do not utilize a One Size Fits All approach to Mental Health, and strongly believe each person’s treatment needs to be unique to that particular person. What one person finds beneficial, another person may not. This is because we are all a product of our own unique bodies and lives, and because no two lives are the same, I like to ensure your mental health treatment reflects your uniqueness.
What are the top treatments you specialize in?
Some of the Therapeutic Methods I use are Mindfulness, Trauma Release, CBT, and Inner Child and Childhood Trauma.
