Yonge & Bloor | Dennis Tran, RMT
Hi I’m Dennis! My journey into massage came after playing many sports from a young age, I found my passion in understanding human movement, body maintenance, and overall health. This led to me pursuing a BSc degree in Honours Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo. To further my knowledge, I then graduated from the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. Through clinical placements at various hospitals and rehabilitation institutions, I learned the importance of massage in treating stress, pain, and overall well being.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I am empathetic and always prioritize patient centered care! Each treatment plan is specific to each patient’s health and wellness goals. I also emphasize self-care to educate patients on how to continue healing outside of the treatment room!
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
From the many soft tissue and Swedish techniques available, I can focus treatment on:
- Relaxation: a cornerstone of massage, using mindful techniques that aims to reduce stress, anxiety, and muscle tension while also improving circulation. This has profound effects for sleep and metal well-being.
- Sports Massage: for athletes of all skill levels, aimed to improve recovery, and performance while also preventing injury by focusing on muscle tension and tightness.
- Trigger Point Therapy: have a painful or tight muscle knot? This technique releases deeper tissues to provide pain relief from muscle tension.
What are you proud of in your practice?
My approach to massage is using mindful techniques to provide the most beneficial treatment for each patient. My passion for massage leads me to continually enhancing my skills and knowledge to keep up to date with latest research and innovative techniques.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I enjoy treating all cases from acute to more chronic issues! I have the most experience treating cases that include general tension and tightness from desk workers, sciatica, and overuse injuries. In these cases, patients can expect instant relief even after one session!
