Yonge & Bloor | Ian Huxley, RMT
I graduated as an RMT from Trillium college in 2014. Prior to this I worked in a variety of health and social care settings with diverse client populations in the UK and U.S.
I’m a believer in community and being involved in the health of a community is a gift, really. I truly believe that in benefitting an individual, physically or emotionally, we can in turn help to build a healthier community overall.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I believe every therapist offers something unique, and is equally valuable. I work from a place where my patient and I are a team, working towards the same goal in a safe and welcoming environment. Questions are encouraged!
What are you proud of in your practice?
That I have been able to have successful and continued therapeutic relationships with patients over a number of years.
What are the top 3 treatments that you specialize in?
I like to use a variety of techniques during treatment. This is generally influenced by individual patient goals. However, I do find deep tissue and trigger point release to be very effective and cupping has been a valuable tool for many of my patients.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I honestly find enjoyment in every case, but we live in an incredibly stressful world right now, so providing treatments that not only promote physical wellbeing but can also support in decreasing stress and anxiety is something I feel particularly passionate about.
